We hope this page provides answers to most of the queries that our guests will have about the wedding weekend. We will update it with further information as and when we receive new questions.

When will the wedding take place?
The wedding will take place on Saturday 14th December 2024.

Where is the wedding going to be held?

What other events are happening over the wedding weekend?
In total there are three planned events, to which all our guests are invited:

Friday 13th December: A casual buffet dinner in Homme House, starting at 18:00.

Saturday 14th December: The wedding.

Sunday 15th December: Farewell get-together in The Walwyn Arms, starting at 16:00, for any guests who can stay longer.

How do I RSVP?
We invite you to RSVP online to each of the wedding events here. The website will request you set up a user account first. You should receive an email confirmation for each event you RSVP to.

What date should I RSVP by?
Please RSVP to each of the three events by 31st July 2024.

How do I get to Homme House?
By car
​The main entrance gates of Homme House are adjacent to St. Bartholomew's Church in Much Marcle. The postcode is not reliable for navigation.​

From the gates, a private drive leads through parkland before a left turn at a junction leads up to the paddock car park and Main House. Upon entering the estate, please drive slowly to avoid startling the livestock.

By train
Ledbury train station is approximately a 15-minute taxi ride away from the venue. Click here for a list of local taxi firms.

Will there be parking available at the venue?
Guests attending the wedding are invited to park in the paddock car park, which is located just below the Main House.
Guests staying in the Coach House are welcome to park directly outside, in the stable yard at the back of the house.

In both cases, the parking will be free of charge.

Where can I stay over the wedding weekend?
On-site accommodation
Guest bedrooms will be available for the night before the wedding (13th December) and the night of the wedding (14th December), in two buildings:

The Main House, which contains 8 guest bedrooms.

The Coach House, which contains a further 4 guest bedrooms and is situated close to the Main House.
We expect most of these on-site rooms to be allocated to family members, and to members of the wedding party. For further detail, please see the Accommodation and Guest Information sections of the venue website.
Staying nearby
​We have reserved rooms for our guests in two additional locations:
​(1) A nearby holiday cottage called the Row House, HR8 2NU;
(2) The Premier Inn at Ross-on-Wye. Full address is Ledbury Road, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, HR9 7QJ.

We will contact you in advance to confirm your accommodation. Transport has been arranged to and from Homme House on the wedding day.

What are the check-in and departure times if I stay at Homme House?
Check-in time:
15:00 on Friday 13th December - the day before the wedding.
Guests arriving on the wedding day, Saturday 14th December, can check in as early as they wish.
Check-out time:
12:00 on Sunday 15th December - the day after the wedding.

As a private family home there is no reception desk.

Are all the rooms at Homme House ensuite?
Some rooms in the Main House have shared bathrooms. All the rooms in the Coach House are en-suite.

Is breakfast served at Homme House?
On Saturday morning, a continental breakfast will be provided in the guest kitchens of the Main House and Coach House, for guests to enjoy at their leisure.

On Sunday morning, guests will have the choice of a continental or a full English breakfast, served in the Main House Dining Room at 10:30. Vegetarian and vegan cooked breakfasts can be prepared.

What are the check-in and departure times if I stay in the Row House?
Check in: 16:00 on Friday 13th December
Check out: 10:00 on Monday 16th December.

Is breakfast served at the Row House?
The Row House is a self-catered cottage. Food will be provided in the kitchen for breakfast, along with other snacks

What are the check-in and departure times if I stay in the Premier Inn at Ross-on-Wye?
Check in: 14:00 on day of arrival
Check out: 12:00 on day of departure

On the wedding day, how do I get to Homme House from either the Row House or the Premier Inn?
A minibus will collect guests from the Premier Inn at 11:45, and from the Row House at 12:25, and transport them to Homme House.

For the return trip, a minibus will collect guests from Homme House at 23:45.

Has transport been arranged for the other events?
No, transport has not been arranged for the Friday Night Dinner or the Sunday farewell food and drinks.

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?
The wedding ceremony, reception and breakfast will all be held indoors, in the Main House. Depending on the weather, some of the official photos may be taken outdoors.

What is the dress code for the wedding?
The dress code for the wedding is formal attire, with suggestions below:

For men – dark-coloured lounge suit and tie.
-
For women – long evening dress, cocktail dress or smart trousers.

What should I bring to wear around Homme House on the non-wedding days?
Smart-casual winter wear will be suitable. If you are intending to walk around the estate or into Much Marcle, e.g. for those attending the Sunday Farewell Drinks, then a pair of Wellington boots is recommended.

If I want to align with the theme of the wedding, what should I be aware of?
As the wedding will be held in the festive season, the colours that will be used will include rich, warm, winter colours and jewel tones. Examples include sapphire blue, ruby red, amethyst, purple, citrine yellow, emerald green, rich winter blue /navy.

The fabrics to be used will include velvets and satins.
​
Please feel no obligation to align with our theme - we include this as we are aware that some guests prefer guidance on the theme of the wedding.

Are there any special requests from Cath and Steve?
Some members of the wedding party suffer from acute allergies to perfume. As such, we please request that you do not wear perfume or other scented products over the wedding weekend.

Are children allowed to attend?
We warmly request any guests with children to please arrange to have the time off from their parenting duties as the wedding, and associated events, will be adults-only.

Will there be consideration of guests’ dietary requirements?
When you RSVP online there will be a facility to let us know of any specific dietary requirements, which will help us create our menus.
Later in 2024, guests will be invited to select their menu choices online.

Is there a gift registry?
We would like to encourage our guests to not worry about bringing gifts to the wedding. We do not expect anything!

What is the wedding day itinerary on Saturday?

Will there be an open bar?
Yes, there will be an open bar set up in the Outer Hall.

What official group photos will be taken?
Official photos of the following groups (including a few variants) will be taken by a professional photographer:

Can I take photos at the wedding using a personal device?
We would ask that photos not be taken on personal devices during the wedding ceremony. However, photos will be welcomed during other parts of the day, especially during the drinks reception and evening reception. You are also welcome to explore the gardens and grounds around the Main House should the weather be favourable on the day.

Who will be in the wedding party?
The Best Man, two Bridesmaids and the Man of Honour will comprise the wedding party, along with the Bride and Groom.

Will there be an area for me to change into formal clothes on the day of the wedding if I am not staying overnight on Friday, 13th December?
Yes, please let us know in advance and we will arrange a space for you in the Coach House.

What if I have a last-minute query over the wedding weekend?
We will create a WhatsApp group before the wedding, to include as many of our guests as possible, which can be used to handle any queries.
